Prestigious 2014 Beef Backer award winner Gianni’s Steakhouse and Seafood is an upscale restaurant for all ages to enjoy. In addition to USDA certified, aged, center-cut beef, Gianni’s also offers chops, chicken & fresh seafood.
Originally opened in 1997 – Gianni’s has been a staple in Wayzata for over two decades. In 2011, Terri Huml purchased the restaurant and transformed the space into a white tableclothed, fine dining establishment focused on serving high quality steaks, while giving the guest an exceptional dining experience.
Executive Chef Steve Vranian is the architect of Gianni’s menu. He is also the mastermind behind our award-winning wine list. In creating this menu – Chef Steve uses only ‘never ever beef’ that is – beef with no added hormones, no antibiotics, and a 100% vegetarian diet that is humanely handled. This quality of beef cannot be found at the store, or at any other restaurant in Minnesota. Only at Gianni’s.
Recently, we’ve undergone a remodeling of our interior and a complete renovation of the patio space. We’ve also purchased the space next door to host private events for years to come.
Terri Huml Fox became sole owner of Gianni’s Steakhouse in 2011. Previously, she was the General Manager. But when the owners informed her of their decision to close doors due to the economic recession, Terri insisted they sell it to her. Driven by her passion for the business and belief that everyone has to control their own destiny, she bought the restaurant in early 2011. Now present every day – her focus is to prioritize Gianni’s culture of retention and support of the staff, both professionally and personally and to provide the best guest experience possible.
Chef Steve Vranian started at Gianni’s in February of 2010 and immediately turned his attention to improving the quality of the ingredients that had fallen due to cost saving attempts of the 2007/09 economic recession. Today, Gianni’s features U.S.D.A. Prime Beef using a specially branded program created by Stockyards Meats in St Paul and Creekstone Farms. Steve’s philosophy is to use the best ingredients available, keep it simple and do not let the dish intimidate or interfere with the guest experience. He believes food should play in the background, welcoming and encouraging a superb dining experience. Steve also is the wine director achieving Wine Spectator’s Best Award of Excellence the past four years.
If you haven’t visited Gianni’s recently, then its the perfect time to return. Our serving staff with over 100 years experience is ready to give you a dining experience unlike any other!
